SUCCESSFUL MULTILATERAL MEETING BETWEEN SHENA, NIOSH MALAYSIA, AND KARE MEDICAL CLINIC

Kare Medical Clinic, in collaboration with the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Malaysia, is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of a multilateral meeting with the Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA). This meeting, held as a courtesy call from NIOSH to SHENA, marks a significant step forward in enhancing occupational health and safety standards in Brunei Darussalam.
NIOSH is currently in Brunei for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KARE Medical Clinic, aimed at rolling out comprehensive occupational health-related training programs across the nation. This MOU signifies a pioneering collaboration between NIOSH Malaysia and KARE Medical Clinic to provide vital training for industries in Brunei, beginning with Occupational First Aid Training and Mental Health First Aid Training.
A PLATFORM FOR COLLABORATION AND KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE
The multilateral meeting served as an invaluable opportunity for all parties to introduce themselves and explore potential areas of collaboration. Discussions during the meeting were highly productive, focusing on how SHENA, NIOSH, and KARE can work together to offer relevant and impactful training programs tailored to the needs of various industries in Brunei.
Dr. Hj Mohammad Munir bin Dato Hj Metassan, Clinical Director of KARE Medical Clinic, expressed his optimism about the outcomes of the meeting, stating, “This gathering was not only a courtesy call but a significant step towards establishing a robust framework for occupational health and safety training in Brunei. The exchange of ideas and technical know-how will undoubtedly lead to initiatives that benefit both our nations.”

Major (R) Hj Hanif bin Maidin, Executive Secretary of NIOSH Malaysia, emphasized the importance of such collaborations, “Our partnership with KARE Medical Clinic and our engagement with SHENA reflect our commitment to enhancing occupational safety and health in the region. This meeting has laid the groundwork for future initiatives that will drive significant improvements in workplace safety standards.”
